A decade ago, Mule Coffee Roasters wasn’t a roastery, an espresso bar, or a brand with blends people know by name. It was just two dreamers—Nico and Cesar—fuelled by a passion for two universal languages: music and specialty coffee.
Our story began in the vibrant weekend markets of Carriageworks and Ramsgate. Picture us setting up our humble stall before dawn, brewing Colombian coffee for early risers, and swapping stories with locals who became our first fans. Back then, there was no grand plan—just a love for sharing bold flavours and seeing faces light up with that first sip.

Building a Community Around Coffee
At those markets, we found something bigger: a thriving community of coffee lovers united by a shared hunger for quality, sustainability, and connection. From those early mornings under market tents, we grew—slowly, steadily, and with plenty of heart.
We learned the art of roasting, forged deep ties with Colombian farmers, and built a brand that’s as much about people as it is about coffee. Along the way, we’ve partnered with some of Australia’s most inspiring wholesale customers—from artisan bakeries to South American, European, Middle Eastern, and Asian-inspired cafes; from bustling kids’ playgrounds to hospitals and business district coffee hubs; and even authentic Aussie fusion spots that capture the spirit of this country like no other—we’ve been there, pouring our coffee into their stories.
The Journey Has Had Its Highs and Lows
Like any rock & roll road trip, we’ve had our highs and lows—moments of pure joy and moments of grind. But every step has been worth it. Today, Mule Coffee Roasters is more than a cup of coffee. It’s a community, a bridge between Colombia and Australia, and a rebellion of loud flavours, good vibes, and honest craftsmanship.
