Marrickville Coffee Lab

Our new coffee playground at Marrickville

Some years ago we moved into our current Marrickville premises. Like most young and upcoming coffee roasters our budget was limited and when we walked into the space we envision how great it could be once we could imprint all our ideas in it. The truth is, it was a dive… It needed a huge facelift and a lot of work. It was the undeniable character of the building, and the price, what convinced us to go ahead with such endeavour.

It was a slow process. We wanted to do as much as we could ourselves. Since its inception we wanted for our HQ to have an intimate and define concept to reflect who we are as a Company and as individuals.

When we started Colombian Connection Coffee, it was the love for Colombian Coffee, its people, its history and tradition mixed with our new life in Australia and the pride we both share for being part of such amazing community, what inspired us to pursue a career in the local Coffee industry. Nicolas and I believe that we have achieved to group our story in what 16 Buckley Street, Marrickville, is today.

The pandemic, although scary and challenging, also became an opportunity to work in our HQ project. Office, stock and distribution were active since day one. Our training and education area and the front espresso bar then became the second stage before we could officially open to the public.

The most important area of the property is the Training-Education area. We are currently using the space to train our current customers and their baristas. Consistency and a proper understanding of our product are key to extract the best out of our coffees.

Soon we will be presenting with both, public and private cupping session, brewing clinics, educational events, Industry events.

Having fun at Marrickville Coffee Lab whilst extracting the best of our coffees

Welcomed by an outstanding San Remo Café racer backed up by a Malkhonig grinder set and the mighty EK43, plenty of light and natural green hanging from the industrial looking sealing and finished with a background of what looks like a music practice room (Drum-kit and Amplifiers) Our space welcomes you to a sensorial and personal experience where the three awesome humans behind this operation are happy to make you a cup of coffee and share their experiences, ideas while enjoying of a great time.

After this years in pseudo-hiatus thanks to three strains of Covid19 viruses, financial crises and now an international military conflict, Mule Coffee Roasters (By Colombian Connection Coffee) is finally opening its HQ doors to the general public.

Marrickville Coffee Lab also shows the music influence behind our brand

Currently trading Tuesday to Fridays. Coffee, Empanadas and few nibbles are on offer for you to sample and enjoy.

The espresso machine is constantly extracting the awesomeness of Our Signature blend and of our singe origin of line, La Bomba, in the shape and form of your favourite coffees. Check also the batch brew in offer as well as the Cold brews. All our coffees are fully sustainable, both socially and environmentally.

Lets share an honest and real coffee experience without pretentiousness and unnecessary complex-looking like gimmicks.
